EXIT Realty Fusion: Your eye on the environment

Exit Realty Fusion, Regina’s newest real estate company, is providing yet another reason for those looking to buy or sell a home to utilize the vast and innovative  services offered by Exit.

“Our society has become very conscious of environmental issues,” said Exit Realty Fusion broker Loretta Hughes. “I felt it was so important for those of us involved in real estate to become very aware of how environmental concerns affect home sales. Everything from proper energy use to windows to toilets can save home owners money and protect the environment. In order to understand exactly how all that would play out was something I was having some difficulty with because when you begin looking at it, the list just keeps growing.”

Loretta has just finished taking an on-line course designed for those in the real estate industry and now carries the additional title of Ecobroker. It’s a designation that enables a REALTOR® to educate and advise clients on how to make eco-friendly choices, whether they’re buying or selling a home.

She is Saskatchewan’s only Ecobroker. And all of her realtors will be taking the same on-line course she did, thus turning Exit Realty Fusion into Saskatchewan’s first “green” real estate companies and one of the very few in all of North America.

 “We’re doing this, of course, for the environment, but largely because we want to be sure we have as much meaningful information as possible to give our clients.”

Born in Pelly, Loretta has been a Saskatchewan resident for virtually all of her life. She has been in real estate for more than 15 years. Earlier this year, she opened her own franchise. Exit Realty Fusion operates out of a state of the art office that is “green friendly” in the Gardiner Park Mall.

Exit Realty is owned by a Canadian, and opened its first franchise in the United States about 10 years ago. It has since spread throughout the U.S.A. About five years ago, it set up shop in the Maritimes and is now in the process of moving into Western Canada. Exit Realty Fusion is Saskatchewan’s first franchise.
