This is the trouble with this time of the year. The weather can be so seductive one day that you think you have died and gone to heaven. Then, the next day it can turn on you so fast it is almost nightmarish, possibly depressing and maybe even worse, wintery.

That is spring in Saskatchewan. Spring in Saskatchewan can be four seasons all wrapped in one. You can get the kind of chilly rain days you normally would find in the autumn. You can get the cool and crisp mornings that you find when winter's last breath is felt. You get huge snowfalls and blizzard like conditions in the spring of our seasons. And, you can get the kind of warm and sunny days that make the early part of summer so nice.

If you plan on moving to Saskatchewan, come prepared to get virtually every kind of weather you could imagine, sometimes in the same week. It's just what life is like here. And, nobody really seems to mind, at least all that much.

The reason likely is this. Saskatchewan has become the hottest place of any province or state in North America. Our population is growing and there are now more people living here than at any time in our history. Our economy is growing, and we barely participated in the recent recession. We have one of the brightest premiers we have ever had and the mayors of our two biggest cities, Saskatoon and Regina, are progressive, forward-thinking and sometimes daring leaders. Our football team has been in two of the last three Grey Cup games, and play to mostly sold out crowds in a stadium that is destined to be replaced by a domed stadium, the only domed stadium in Canada between Toronto and Vancouver.

Our history has always been agricultural, and it remains a big part of the province. But now we have oil, natural gas, uranium, potash and a diamond discovery that some say will bring from the depths of the earth the finest diamonds in the world.

The great grain company, Viterra, which sprang from the death knell of the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool, is continuing to move onto the world stage and is drawing considerable attention from the financial powers of New York City.

There is growth everywhere, big and small. A young Regina woman, let go by The Leader-Post, has started up her own sports magazine. It is called Regina Adrenaline and the woman's name is Julie Folk and she has put together a slick and appealing magazine that is slowly but surely becoming the talk of the town. It's a daring move but she seems to be making it work.

A few weeks ago, I had reason to go to Mayor Pat Fiacco's 15th floor office in City Hall. He could hardly contain his excitement as he pointed across the downtown area and talked about all the changes that are coming. Soon, there will be cranes everywhere as new great tall buildings go up and the whole downtown scene is going to undergo a facelift.

There is the great wholesale grocery warehouse and hub that is being built west of the city. Soon, the train tracks from downtown Regina will be moved, new highways will be built, and Regina will see millions of dollars of new business and hundreds of new people coming into town.

Harbour Landing, the city's newest sub division, is growing at a rapid pace on the southwest tip of the city. Houses, businesses, superstores, restaurants, condos are springing up. There is one condo development called Sage and its first two phases have virtually sold out and they are not even fully built yet. If you want to get in on the Sage story, just call Exit Realty Fusion.

It just goes on and on. Exit Realty Fusion started up just two years ago with a couple of agents. Now, they have grown to 30 agents and every week more and more agents and clients are coming to the Exit Realty Fusion umbrella.

It's hot in this place, that's all, and not necessarily the weather.
